Sorry, I missed a bunch today. Busy at work. Post if you heard anything interesting.
7:45 - Jim Lampley
HBO's boxing announcer called in to analyze the big De La Hoya/Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight this weekend. He also revealed this funny little behind-the-scenes story on the set of Rocky Balboa (which Jim appeared in): during a fight scene, Antonio Tarver got annoyed at Sylvester Stallone's low punches, and actually knocked Sly out cold! That punch is in the final cut of the movie.
8:10 - Ask a Mexican: Gustavo Arellano
Gustavo is a columnist at the OC Weekly who writes
the feature, "Ask a Mexican". In it, he answers people's questions about, well, Mexicans, with historical and cultural facts, along with a dose of humor. He now
has a book out of the same name. The boys asked some of their own, like why their love dwarves? Answer: Descendants like the Olmecs and Aztecs worshipped them long ago...and now they chase big-breasted women around on TV. Why the love for the Dodgers and Raiders? Many Latinos came of age in the 80s, when they were big. Why do they wear their clothes when swimming? Fat. Listeners also called in with their questions, and Rudy was one of them, wondering why he has so many kids. Gustavo gave an anthropological and a theological reason, but then claimed it came down to this: no contraception in the world can hold back the power of Mexican sperm! He was so good, they had him on for 3 segments.
Gustavo will be appearing for a signing for his book tonight at 7pm at Martinez book store in Santa Ana, followed by the Pico Rivera Borders tomorrow.
9:10 - Game: Lick Lisa, Weenie Edition
Would you have licked Lisa with these questions? The average foreplay time: 16 min. The largest penis ever measured by Kinsey Institute: 13 inches (!). The percentage of people in US who have had a threesome: 18%. Some did, but Intern Brows was chastised for weakly licking only Lisa's wrist and arm, when he could have licked many
other places. Keeping clear of her vagina, of course...
Tomorrow: Movie Beat, actor Peter Krause, highlights from HBO's 24/7 boxing show, and the shortest marriages.
